Nigavithran is a Chennai-based independent Tamil rapper who has been carving his path through the underground scene since his school days. Influenced by Malaysian hip-hop, he grew into one of Tamil Nadu's most authentic voices — unafraid to name what others won't.
His 2017 track Digital Moonji went viral during the Neduvasal Hydrocarbon protests. His 2020 protest rap Excuse me Modi spread organically across platforms before he even promoted it. The music found its people.
Co-founder of the collective Dudez in Madras, he has performed at festivals including the Vaanam Arts Festival in Chennai. His 2024 album 82 D Block and 2023's Pain in a Loop are on Spotify. His latest release BlackFire EP (2026) — with May 17 Movement — shows a sharper, politically charged evolution.
"Raw. Real. Underground." — that's how he describes himself, and the music proves it.
